hot

It's been really hot here.

The fact that we don't have air conditioning may have something to do with that.

That's why I was SUPER excited to go to America the Beautiful Fountain & park on Friday, with my friend Mandy and her two adorable girls, Avery & Ashton.

First we hit the slides and swings.
I couldn't believe Hunter was doing this slide all by himself!

Then we made our way over to the fountain and discovered it wasn't working. We almost moved on to plan B but thankfully it turned on and the kids were able to splash around.

It was a really cool place. When I heard that it was a "fountain" I didn't have high expectations...but it was HUGE and really "neat-o." Take a look for yourself...

Hunter was a little intimidated at first...but not Avery. She is one brave girl. Can you find her?

Hunter warmed up to the water (as long as I was close by)

Baby Ashton is sooooo sweet and smiley...so is her momma, come to think of it!

This picture makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it. Not sure why it cracks me up SO much...I think it's because I can relate to the sisterly love :)
I just can't help but put it on here.

They really are the cutest bunch of girls ever.

And now for the most precious moments of the day...

We are definitely going there again!

Thanks for the fun, Mandy. It was such a great day and soooo nice to catch up and spend some time with you and your girls.

SAFE!

The Lord has answered our prayers!

Ryan has made it through the procedure safely!

Kendra just text messaged me and said that the nurse called and the heart valve was in, everything had gone well, and they were just finishing up!

Thank you, thank you, thank your for all your prayers!

We are all feeling much relief and are sooooo grateful!

Praise God!

3-4 hours...

They just took Ryan back to start the procedure.

Should take 3-4 hours.

There was a delay this morning waiting to talk with the doctor for final consent.

Thank you for your prayers! Keep them coming!!

the big day

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the big day for Ryan's procedure. My sister, Kendra, and brother-in-law, Ryan are in Boston and preparing for the valve replacement Tuesday morning at 10:30am.

If you happen to read this tonight, please pray that they would get some good rest and be mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared for tomorrow. They arrived Sunday evening and had a terrible night. Apparently, the room they stayed in (for patients and family members) was surrounded by loud children and families that were up until all hours of the morning. Kendra and Ryan were both exhausted before the day even began!

Ryan had all kinds of tests done today...MRI, EKG, tredmill, etc. and they are both sooo tired.

Please ask the Lord to protect Ryan during surgery and to guide the doctor's hands as they replace the valve in his heart. I also ask that you would pray for my sister, Kendra, as she has to wait alone during the procedure. We pray that they would both feel the peace and comfort of all their loved ones and those who are lifting them in prayer...but most importantly, the love and comfort that comes from the ULTIMATE PHYSICIAN...

Kendra plans to update throughout the procedure on THEIR BLOG tomorrow. Please check in for updates frequently and lift them up to the Lord as often as they come to mind.

And one more favor...

:)

would you please (pretty please) leave a comment on their blog (or mine) if you happen to be praying for them? I know it is a lot to ask but I know it will help encourage their hearts as they go through this very scary time.

Thank you for your prayers!!
