all about hunter

I haven't forgotten about Hunter.

I promise.

Yes, Tanner has pretty much taken over the blog the last 3+ weeks but Hunter is still around...

adorable as ever.

Making us laugh.

Making us crazy.

Making us smile.

Making us love him even more (if that's possible!)

A few things I want to remember about Hunter at 2 1/2...

-You know how to use the IPod better than mommy.

-You LOVE to be outside... especially going to the park. Your favorite thing to do at the park is slide and ride the horse.

-You love cars, trucks, and tractors...every kind...race cars, dump trucks, loaders, fire engines, ambulances, John Deere tractors, bulldozers, cement trucks...and on and on and on.

-You love sunglasses and going places. Whenever we are driving home you say, "But, I don't want to go home!"

You say the cutest things...

"Ohhhhhh! that's a gweat (great) idea!"

"Tha'd be wonderful momma!"

"Cute hairs, Cas!" (to our dog Cassie)

"Ohhh no! Where's my smell go?!?" (when you had a cold and a runny nose)

"Yes, of course! Of course!" (you say this in response to lots of our questions...like, "Do you want to go downstairs Hunter?")

"Not quite yet" (whenever he isn't ready for the next bite of food or another drink)

"Ya, sure enough!" (another cute response to many of our questions)

"Wow! It's bweautiful (beautiful)!" (you say this a lot...even when it is things that aren't so beautiful)

"I feeling not" (when you aren't feeling good)

"Sweet dreams, momma"

"It's yuck in the nose!" (while changing a dirty diaper)

"Daddy, more hiccups? PLEASE!" (wanting daddy to do more push-ups while you are on his back)

"Phew! That was close!" (sometimes you say this when you are about to be in trouble)

-You love to read and sing.

-You know all of these songs by heart (and probably more I can't recall at the moment)...

-Itsy Bitsy Spider
-Happy Birthday
-Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
-Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes
-Baa Baa Black Sheep (you sing it "Black, Black, Sheep, Sheep")
-Rock-a-bye Baby (we sing this to you every night before bed)
-Old McDonald Had a Farm
-ABC's
-Jesus Loves Me
-Jesus Loves the Little Children
-Away in a Manger
-This Little Light of Mine
-Stand Up for Jesus
-The B-I-B-L-E
-I've Got the Joy Down in My Heart (is that the name of it??)

-You can count to 13

-You know most of your colors but often mix up black and white.

-You have ZERO interest in potty training for now. You wear size 6 diapers. You soak through them almost every night. They don't make bigger diapers. We are going to have to work on this one. :)

-You are so polite. You almost always say please and thank you - even when mom & dad aren't around.

-You still take at least one 2-3 hour nap and you sleep from about 8pm-8am (sometimes later)

-It takes you a long time to warm up to people and you are generally very shy but once you make friends you are full of energy, enthusiasm, and love.

YOU ARE PRECIOUS AND LOVED VERY MUCH!!!!!!

tanner {three weeks}

Tanner has changed so much this week.

I can't believe how quickly his face is filling out and how much more awake and alert he is.

He squeaks more.

Opens his eyes more.

Even smiles more. Seriously. I know no one will believe they are intentional but I swear they are :)

He is sleeping 4 -5 1/2 hours at night and he is pretty content most of the time.

He loves to be swaddled nice and tight at bedtime.

He loves his "binky" (pacifier) more and more and gets really mad when he can't hang on to it.

He sleeps through lots of noise and isn't bothered when his big brother holds his hand or rubs his head (sometimes a little harder than he should).

We love getting to know this sweet baby boy... and I think his big brother might love him... a whole bunch.

*************************************************************************

Tanner had very special visitors come to meet him this week. Uncle Joel & Aunt Jess brought baby Levi and drove all the way from Kansas to spend a few days with us. Jess and I have been best friends since 4th grade and have managed to stay so close although the years and miles have tried to separate us. Both she and Joel are precious to Michael and I & we always have such a great time together. Hunter LOVES Uncle Joel and was his shadow the whole time they were here.

The last time I saw Levi he was Tanner's age & size. Check out this post to see how little he was. He has grown a little bit since I saw him 3 months ago :) He is sooooo darling and I love him to pieces.

And here they are... the 3 little boys. Sweet as can be. For now anyway!

Check out Jess' blog for more pics of the trip.

Thanks for coming Joel, Jess, & Levi! We loved having you here!
