last of christmas...

Last but not least I have a few more photos of our Christmas. They include meeting Santa, celebrating with the Moffat/Angelbeck side, and a few other misc. images. I think I have been hesitant to finish posting all things Christmas because that officially means I have to move on...to 2009. And that really means time is flying, Hunter is growing up, life is moving along, and things never really slow down! So, here they are...a few more good pics of Christmas 2008.

Hunter had a mysterious fever (developed while waiting in line FOREVER) the day we met Santa but he was still a good sport.

One of my favorite pics of Hunter this Christmas...

Aunt Kara with Hunter

Michael and I with Kristiana, Michael John, and baby Katie. Best pic out of....a lot :)

Group photo. Hunter was a pill in all of them. It's lovely when your child is the one who isn't cooperating!

Gotta love Christmas time with adorable & expressive kiddos :)

One more picture before taking down our tree...

We hope you had a blessed Christmas and you were able to have a little time to reflect on why we celebrate the season. We are so thankful for the the gift of CHRIST and the ultimate sacrifice he made for each of us. May 2009 be a year full of hope, joy, and many blessings for you and your family!

christmas eve

Christmas Eve was spent at Nana and Papa's house with Aunt Kendra and Uncle Ryan, cousin Sawyer, and Great Grandpa. It is always fun to get the little boys together and enjoy one another's company. It isn't often that we are all together but when we are good times are had by all :) We forgot to get a picture of everyone together and somehow Papa didn't make it into any photos. oops.

Hunter and Sawyer are just starting to notice each other and interact a little more. We attempted pictures but they didn't go over very well. Sawyer wasn't fond of the Santa hat...

"Hey cuz, I think our sweaters look alike..."

As good as it gets...

Our favorite gift to give was a big stuffed lion for Sawyer. It was super cute...I think he liked it :)

Elmo was the big gift from Nana & Papa and while you can't really see the sheer joy on Hunter's face, you can see his high cheek bones reflecting an enormous smile...

We were blessed to have grandpa with us this year. We sure miss grandma Celia but we are thankful Gramps is close by now. His health is failing him but he is still sharp as a tac and has kept his great sense of humor.

Gramps big gift to everyone was a Wii!!!

christmas cheer...

The wait is over! Here it is...the much anticipated post with PICTURES!! I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one really excited about this but it is historic in that I actually have my computer up and running, all of my photos are downloaded (from the past 4 months) and a handful have actually been edited! It also means that I have a moment of peace and quite to sit down and post a few of these! I have lots to post but I suppose I should start with the most recent which would be CHRISTMAS!!!.....

Christmas morning it was just Michael, me and Hunter...heavenly. Hunter's 3 big gifts this year were his firetruck (from Great Nana), Elmo (from Nana & Papa - my mom & dad), and his chair from mommy & daddy.

Hunter LOVED his firetruck the best...he makes it go by pushing on a little button on the steering wheel. It was a bit bumpy at first but he laughed as he got the hang of it. It is hilarious, really.

Hunter also loved his Elmo from Nana and Papa. He is slowly becoming obsessed with the little red critter and is starting to say, "Mel Mo" (aka Elmo).

And the chair from michael and I? I'm pretty sure he liked the bow on it the best :)

Cassie even got a little Christmas love with a new sweater, bones, and a new toy...

And the two trouble makers....

We had many other Christmas celebrations with family...those will be coming soon. For now, Hunter is up from his nap and I need to start dreaming up something for dinner!

Is it almost Christmas?

Can't believe we are half way through December.

Still unpacking but almost settled.

Have just started my Christmas shopping (better late then never).

All 3 of us have just recovered from the stomach flu. Not pretty.

Tree is up and decorations are out but I am pretty sure that is as far as we will get this Christmas.

Christmas card is not looking likely. If you have managed to get your act together on this front and need our new address please e-mail me. I am weird about posting it :)

We are alive. I haven't forgotten you all. Just really, really busy :)

Pictures...I promise...they are coming...sooner than later :)

water4christmas

(The format of my blog is not allowing me to show the full screen of this video. Argh. If you want to see it bigger go to this link: http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=751890139edc05518c3b55&skin_id=601&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url)

I have been wanting to blog about this for awhile but feel totally inadequate to motivate and inspire by my words. So instead of stressing about what I should write I am simply going to give some facts, copy and paste from the main website, and pray that you are moved to participate! This idea comes from a collection of people who want to do something positive for those in need of basic necessities like CLEAN WATER! This is a very reputable organization and a tremendous cause.

What is Water4Christmas?
charity: water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We give 100% of the money raised to direct project costs. With the help of exemplary organizations on the ground and individuals here, we can drill wells and provide people with this basic, essential need.

Facts: unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. ONE IN SIX PEOPLE ON THE PLANET DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO SAFE, CLEAN DRINKING WATER.

Builidng Wells: The local community is engaged in the well building process, carrying out small tasks for free to reduce labor costs. This also encourages community participation and ensures community ownership after the project is complete. When the well is built, a water committee is formed. It generally consists of 6-8 people, half of them female. In the case of hospitals, the committee will generally consist of nurses and hospital staff. In schools, the committee would likely be comprised of teachers. Since charity: was founded and began activity in August 2006, we have funded the construction of more than 600 wells that, when completed, will provide clean drinking water to 250,000 people. We're just getting started.

YOU CAN HELP: $2o can give a person in Africa clean, safe drinking water for 20 years. 100% goes to direct project costs.

IF YOU ARE ON FACEBOOK: Please join the water4christmas cause and every friday you can help us build 2 wells by contributing $10!!!! There are nearly 1,000 members on facebook and if each gave only $10 we could provide 2 wells for people in need of CLEAN WATER every Friday!

What can you go without this week/Christmas season to contribute??

Check out www.water4christmas.com for more details and to donate. Also see www.charitywater.org

Jody is one of the inspiring individuals behind this who is instumental in the organization of this project (she went to my highschool and is an amazing wife/mother/servant)
