bowling and ice cream

Trying to be intentional with our last few weeks with just Hunter.

Thought it might be fun to go bowling since Hunter LOVES to bowl and talks about it all the time.

Papa and Nana came along too.

Hunter loved almost every minute of it...

until he got hungry and decided he'd rather sit down and eat some teddy grahams.

***********************************************************

Hunter could hardly wait to get started...

Daddy giving a little lesson...

The BIG 6 lbs ball that Hunter used...

And then the fun began...

Hunter raced back to get another ball every time he finished...

Towards the end of the game, Hunter started getting a little annoyed with all the help and wanted to do it "all by myself"... so I dragged my very pregnant self out there and set him up to roll it on his own.

It looks like he is getting ready to kick it... I promise...he rolled it :)

Then he'd had enough.

He was tired.

And hungry.

So we sat and watched while the big boys played a game...

We had a blast.

Later that night, Michael and I took him to a little drive-in and had dinner and REALLY YUMMY ice cream.

Totally fun.

Such a great day.

we've been waiting...

for a REALLY BIG snow.

We've waited...and waited... and waited.

Feels like we have hardly had any snow this winter.

A few inches here...a few there.

And the story is still much the same.

With only about 5 more weeks until baby brother makes his appearance, Michael and I decided we need to make the most out of our opportunities and have some fun with Hunter and our little family of 3...before we are a family of 4.

So we bundled the boy up during our last snowfall...

and went sledding (in our few inches of snow...on our street...in the freezing cold...minor details)!

We went up...

and we went down...

and when I say "we"...I really mean Michael & Hunter :)

I took pictures on the sidelines and let Michael do all the running...I'm nice like that.

Hunter loved it and took his little shovel everywhere with him - scooping along the way.

I thought it would be fun to build a snowman.

Hunter did too.

He jumped out of the sled and headed over with his shovel.

I was informed that it wasn't snowman building snow.

I made them try anyway.

My informant was right. NOT snowman snow.

Oh well. It was really cold anyway :)

One last pic...

and then inside for hot chocolate...Hunter's first...

Hunter said, "Ummmm! It tastes GOOD in my tummy!"

yumm...yummmm...yummmm.

just because...

i don't want to forget.

Michael and I always pray with Hunter before bedtime.

We always ask if he wants to pray but usually he wants daddy to.

Tonight he said "I pray"...

and so he did...

"Dear God...

thank you Elle (his elephant who goes EVERYWHERE with him)
thank you mommy

thank you brother

thank you daddy

thank you Cassie (our dog)

.....
(long pause)...

thank you basket (his basket ball hoop).

....
(another long pause)...

love you,

Amen."

art

some for baby brother's room...

seems like Hunter needs something different to do every 5 minutes.

did i mention he is a busy boy these days?

:)

gotta love him.

new month, new projects

January flew by. A quick trip to Kansas (documented here till I have time to do a proper post) and weeks of passing around a terrible virus consumed the month and ate it right up. Besides the pictures I took while in Kansas, I have ONE other picture for the month on my camera.

It's of Hunter...

in time-out.

sigh.

*********************************************************************************

On to February...

I said that if we had another
BOY I wouldn't do much.

We are planning on the boys sharing a bedroom eventually so for the time being I was just going to put another crib in our already existing guest bedroom. Easy enough.

Plans changed a little.

I may have gone overboard.

My husband is wondering if I am crazy.

He has been amazing though...he's painted the room, spray painted lots of furniture, and is gearing up to do chair rail, a ceiling fan, and adding shelving to the closet.

That's just in the baby's room. We won't talk about the rest of the house...let's save that for another post.

It is looking super cute though.

And this little guy will have an adorable new room to welcome him home.

(this is our little one on a 3-D ultrasound at about 28 weeks)

We still have lots to do but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek...

Meanwhile, Hunter is keeping us on our toes and is NOT liking all the extra attention baby brother's room is getting.

The H Man is sooooo busy these days and into everything. He makes us laugh every day.

remembering

can't believe it's been a year.

remembering this sweet little angel today.

wishing things looked different and Cora was still here.

trusting the Lord for His perfect plan.

thankful that we have HOPE and will see her again.

grateful for her 341 days here on earth.

amazed at how she has changed me and so many others.

praying for her dear family.

glad her baby brother will know all about her & that she will not be forgotten.
