hoops

Today was a much better day. Busy but better. A solid night's rest did everyone some good.

Hunter was a little more enjoyable today. He had an occasional scowl but perked up for Great Papa and for me a few times. I'm so very thankful for Hunter...even when he is growly. I am extra, extra thankful for him when he is happy and obedient though :)

The H mas has been into basketball lately. We bought him this hoop from good ol' Walmart and he absolutely loves it. He takes his basketball to bed with him and says over and over again, "Bass-kit bawl, nigh night" so that we don't forget. When he wakes up he immediately starts saying, "Bass-kit! Bass-kit!" (meaning he wants to go downstairs and shoot a basket). It's pretty funny. And kinda cute :)

Here are some pics of his new favorite thing...

He shoots...

and he scoooooores!!

Wow. I think I just got a glimpse of him as a teenager.

Update on Gramps...
Great Papa had lots of tests done today. He has quite a few compression fractures in his back, which are causing him a great deal of pain. He also has an aneurysm in his aorta that the Doctor is very worried about. It could likely rupture at any moment but the surgery to fix it may be too risky. He also has a heart murmur and dangerously low sodium levels. Much to pray for. He has been able to keep his sense of humor but is exhausted from the pain and all the transportation today. Please pray he gets a good night's sleep in the hospital tonight.

Alexander....

and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Did you ever read the book?

I loved it when I was a little girl...

and it totally applies to my day.

Hunter has suddenly decided to have major attitude (you can refer to the last post for some insight into this).

Today was TERRIBLE...

Direct disobedience, screaming, whining, kicking, and tantrums. Lovely.

I think we disciplined Hunter more today than we have in his entire life.

It was really REALLY tough.

I had a HORRIBLE migraine. Knocked me out. Serious hallucinations and everything.
(All the while, Hunter cried, jumped, poked, and hit me)

Then we found out my grandpa had a bad fall today (NO GOOD) and is in the hospital. Lots going on with him. So much so that I don't even have the energy to write about it right now...he is in a lot of pain (VERY BAD)...

we would really appreciate your prayers for him tonight and in the next few days.

And on top of all of it, Ryan and Kendra leave for Boston on Sunday. While we are all so happy that he is qualifying for the study, it is still very nerve-racking. My sister said it best, "Yeah! Ryan doesn't have to have open heart surgery! ...He just has to have an experimental, non-government approved, life threatening procedure done!" We are trusting the Lord and believing all will be well but it still weighs heavy.

Needing some refreshment...energy...encouragement...wisdom...hope...

and SLEEP.

new attitude

The boy likes his new hair cut...

but it also came with some new attitude!

Watch out! It's like looking into a mirror now...

miracle

Well, I said we needed a MIRACLE...

and that is what we got!

Ryan and Kendra (my brother-in-law and sister) heard that the insurance company WILL cover the experimental, non-invasive procedure to replace the valve in Ryan's heart. The are headed to Boston in August!

Thank the Lord!

The procedure will still carry risks but we are so thankful that Ryan will not have to undergo another open heart surgery.

I'll keep you posted...

Thank you for your prayers.

owen

He's one of my best-friend's little bro...

so he's pretty much my little bro :)

I've known him since he was in diapers.

He's all grown up now...

and it was time for some Senior Portraits!

Owen and his mom, Kathy, came all the way from KANSAS to see me and let me take his pics. I seriously love them. :)

OK, so maybe they didn't come JUST to see me (they may or may not have been on their way to an awesome "cabin" for a cool Colorado get-away) BUT they did come and I was sooooooo glad they did.

We took a gagillion photos. They were all great. Owen is a stud. Here are a handful of my favorites....

I told him he could be on the cover of GQ in the picture below.
He asked me what GQ was :)
OK, maybe the cover of GAP or Abercrombie is better.

We saved the best for last.

This is Owen's favorite...

Yep, that tree is about 6' tall, I went back and measured it, Owen.
He can jump off walls and fly SERIOUSLY high...now we have proof.

Love you, Owen.

Love you, Beverlins.

Oh yeah...and I love the name Owen. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY love it. I asked him if I could steal it if we have another boy. Not that I'm pregnant. I'M NOT. Just saying. For the record. Hope none of the family objects. :)

wednesday warriors

Check out RYAN N KENDRA'S BLOG and join us on Wednesday to pray for their meeting with the insurance folks. We are trusting the Lord for a MIRACLE.

josie

How darling is she?!?

Josie's mom, Danielle, and I went to high school together but hadn't kept in touch. She moved to Kansas and we re-connected through Cora. Danielle wanted ONE year pictures of Josie so while they were visiting family in Colorado we took some!

Josie is just precious. Seriously. Her only downfall is that she doesn't really like to be on the ground or around foliage... tiny problem for us photographers. :) The time change wasn't doing her any favors either. I was a little worried that our entire photo shoot might look something like this...

If that had been the case it wouldn't have mattered. She's cute even when she's mad.

Josie DID perk up though and she gave us a few of her precious smiles.

These smiles were hard to beat.

I just wanted to squeeze her! She is so, so, so CUTE!

By the end of the shoot she had decided this outdoor thing really wasn't so bad...as long as the green stuff wasn't actually touching her. :) What a trooper!

Danielle, thanks for the fun! This is just a SMALL sampling...there are many more on the way soon!
