86

Today my Grandpa turned 86.

He said he "feels old...REALLY, REALLY old."

After my Grandma went to be with Jesus, we moved Gramps to Colorado and into a retirement home. Hunter and I try to visit him at least once a week. We love seeing him and spending time together. As soon as we pull into the parking lot Hunter says, "OOOOOHHHHHH!!! Ate Papa!!!!! That means he is really excited to see Great Papa. :)

Great Papa is ALWAYS excited to see Hunter...

and he loves to introduce him to all his friends...

Hunter loves to watch everyone play Wii Bowling. He could stay there ALL DAY LONG.

Grandpa holds a special place in my heart. Not only because he is my last surviving grandparent, but because we have "talks." And we understand each other. We laugh, we cry, we remember. But mostly we laugh :)

I asked Grandpa how he felt the other day and he said, "Great! So great in fact, that I fear I may live to be 120!"

I know someone who would LOVE to see him live to 120.

Hunter and Great Papa have a bond that is unbreakable.

He loves Great Papa sooooo very much...and I'm pretty sure the feelings are mutual...

Today, we honor Grandpa and cherish the years that we have had with him. We are blessed to have him in our lives and we pray for many more years together.

"A gray head is a crown of glory. It is found in the way of righteousness."
Proverbs 16:31

"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous hand."
Isaiah 41:10

Oh, those last pictures made me all teary. Your grandpa sounds like a wonderful man and I think it's AWESOME that you and Hunter make it a point to visit so often. I wish my mom's parents could have known Sophie and Ori and this new baby...
